New York City Residents Directory is independently operated. It identifies and links to public rolls, record indexes, and directory collections concerning current or historical New York City residents. It does not host government records and has no affiliation with a government office, court, library, or records custodian.
2. Acceptable Use
Use this reference only for lawful purposes. You may not use the site, or material located through it, to:
- Stalk, threaten, intimidate, harass, or harm another person
- Find a person protected by a restraining or protective order
- Carry out fraud or identity theft
- Make an FCRA-regulated credit, employment, housing, or insurance decision
- Scrape, reproduce, or republish site content at scale
- Disrupt the operation or security of the site
3. No Consumer Reporting Agency
This site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. § 1681 et seq. Neither this reference nor a result from a linked search tool is a consumer report. Do not use that material to evaluate eligibility for credit, employment, housing, insurance, or another purpose regulated by the FCRA.
4. Third-Party Resources
New York City portals, county clerk routes, library collections, and third-party services, including sponsored search tools, maintain their own terms and policies. We do not control their content, availability, pricing, or information practices.
5. No Warranties
The reference is offered "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind. We do not promise that site information is accurate, complete, or current, or that a linked portal will be available or produce correct results.

You agree to indemnify and hold the site operators harmless from a claim or demand, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, arising from your misuse of the site or violation of these terms.
8. Intellectual Property
The site’s original writing, design, logo, and layout are protected by copyright. You may link to a page and quote a brief passage with attribution. Republishing whole pages or systematically copying the content is not permitted.

We may revise these terms by posting an updated version here. Continued use after a revision constitutes acceptance.
10. Restricting Access
We may restrict or block access, without notice and at our discretion, for a user who violates these terms or misuses the site.
11. Governing Law
New York law governs these terms without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Requests for New York City or state agency records are governed separately by the New York Freedom of Information Law, Public Officers Law Article 6, §§84–90. FOIL covers existing agency records and excludes the judiciary; access to a specific court file is principally governed by Judiciary Law §255 and court rules.
12. Severability
If a provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect.
